If you’re scratching your head at SOFI TUKKER’s new single ‘Best Friend’ thinking ‘where have I heard this before’, it’s because the track had the most blessed of starts – as the soundtrack to the new iPhone X advert. As you may have guessed, the track is centred around friendship, and as such it features some of SOFI TUKKER’s best friends in each verse: NERVO, The Knocks and Alisa Ueno. The sentiment is as uplifting as the music itself, which makes full use of the worlds most underrated percussion instrument: the humble cowbell. Speaking about the track, Sophie & Tuck say: “To the friends we have had long before SOFI TUKKER, the friends we have met along the way, and the friends we have not even met yet, you all make our lives so much better: this song is dedicated to all of you!”. -HM
